Oh my goodness so much to take in! Italy is beautiful, so beautiful that I feel like I'm in a very realistic Imax 3D movie. I still can't believe I'm actually walking the streets of Italy... as of now, I'm more concentrated on what has to get done that I don't think I've absorbed the concept of study abroad quite yet. Like earlier today, we needed groceries, so we literally picked a path and kept to it. We saw some guys our age with bags full of bread and milk so I asked them "Dov'e' il supermercato?"and when they started speaking back in English we realized they were other NYU students. But I keep trying to use Italian as much as possible. Most other people don't seem to care as much, or maybe that's just cause it's the first day, but I hope to significantly improve my Italian before I leave and actually speaking it occasionally is said to help haha. Oh and this supermarket? Right next door to the Duomo. So we're walking towards it and the Duomo starts covering the skyline and it's like.. oh yea, we're in Italy. That's why I took that super long plane flight.
And the views! The views form the top floor in our apartment are amazing! We keep all the windows open in the day (I love how I say this like it's a habitual thing, when I've only been in this apartment for 6 hours give or take) and you can see amazing picturesque views from all of them. Plus our apartment is really big, our room is huge, and there's a bathroom just for the girls living in my triple!
Well I'm fading fast, I've been up since 630am yesterday. Thankfully I got sleep on the airplane so that's the only reason I could stay up this late (it's 10pm here). Hopefully more wonderful adventures await tomorrow!
